about
Roma Freestone, affectionately known as Mimi, was a young, fashionable woman living in Sydney during the 1940’s, when hats and gloves were the order of the day. Glamorous Mimi, always impeccably accessorised, could not have known that her notorious sense of style would inspire her granddaughter to create a fashion range in her name.
In 2006, designer, Julia Hill launched her accessories label, mimi&me in Sydney. Remembering her beloved Grandmother, Julia says, “Mimi was a great role model – stylish, sassy, gregarious and fun. She was full of full of life and seemed to draw confidence from always being properly presented.”
To Australian women today mimi&me is known as a brand that celebrates colour and joy whilst always feeling exciting and seriously stylish. Julia says, “ I want women who wear my accessories to feel confidant, and happy. It’s all about completing an outfit”,and expressing yourself.
